2021 so far …
Well it’s been a bit of a busy time getting ready for the start of the 2021 season, I have been working on getting my knee back to 100% fitness after I had to have a small operation. Sadly I had to miss the first test at Silverstone, but was back at Snetterton where the rain had other ideas about track time! We had a good test at Oulton Park, which last year was one of our weaker rounds and on the 8th June the official BSB tests wrap up with one day at Donington Park, ahead of the first round at Oulton (25/26/27 June).
Last week Honda Racing UK unveiled the 2021 livery on the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP I’ll be riding in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship this year and it looks so good! The team have gone back to the iconic tricolor paint scheme for this season, which in my eyes you just can’t go wrong with.
Over the Bank Holiday weekend, Honda Motor Europe held a UK media event at Oulton Park, where members of the UK press joined us and were able to ride the race machines, including my bike. It was great to see the reaction from the media after riding my Superstock bike and also after riding the Superbikes – there were a lot of wide eyes!
For the media attending the event, it must have been a pretty awesome track day getting the chance to ride the machines we race in the British Championship, it’s not something that comes around very often, so hats off to Honda for putting an event like that on. We also got to have some fun at the track as guide riders, as well as getting the chance to ride for various content creation for HME and also the team, who have a new series out this year.
I also have a new-look website, which if you’re reading this you’ll be on – so go and have a look around! I also, for the first time, have some merchandise, which is very exciting! So go check out the ‘merchandise’ link and treat yourself.
I’m so excited to get the season going and what makes it so much better is that we can welcome fans back, it was great seeing everyone again at the Oulton Park test, so fingers crossed we can continue as planned and fans will be present for Round 1.
